Our Real Ales

We always have a good choice of cask conditioned ales with Adnams's Bitter and the world renowned Marston's Pedigree Bitter forming part of our permanent selection.

	A fine combination of mineral enriched Burton Water, fruity Fuggles hops married with bitter and spicy Golding hops are used by Marstons to deliver a distinctive yet beautifully balanced beer	ABV

	The classic Southwold bitter and Adnams favourite - brimming with the fragrance of the finest hops and malt, it's dry yet refreshing, with a lingering bitter flavour	3.7%

Our other handpumps are changed regularly to ensure there is plenty of choice for those of you who appreciate high quality and excellently kept ale.

Our cellar skills are regularly acknowledged through the Cask Marque scheme and entries in Camra's Good Beer Guide as well as other publications.

	Gold Medal Winner in the Strong Bitter Category at the CAMRA Champion Beer Of Britain 2003. With a name that commemorates the fierce Battle of Sole Bay fought against the Dutch Republic in 1672 off the coast of Southwold, Broadside is rich, with aromas of almonds, zest and conserved fruit, and a perfect balance of malt and hop flavours - an award-winning pint to savour. 	Theakston's Old Peculier is a dark, strong beer which is quite rightly famous for its rich, complete and complex character - and for it's long history. In the strong dark style, a malty beer with a dark brown colour and notes of molasses, toffee, and dark fruit. Hop profile is minimal, though bitterness does creep in. An excellent strong old ale.	5.7%
	A deceptively strong ale but light in colour. Fruity notes are balanced with a smooth hoppiness and biscuity flavour. Full bodied with a slightly spicy finish.	5.1%
	An award winning premium cask ale with wide spread and consistent popularity. Described as "ripe malt in the mouth with good hop balance, intensely dry finish with blackcurrant notes."	4.3%
	A wonderful warm flavour bursting with body, malt loaf and toffee flavours combine with bitterness on the back of the tongue to give a beautiful, balanced sweetness. Perfect - dry and satisfying.	5.2%
